Candidate Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Road Rescue Network collects, uses, shares, and safeguards the personal information of individuals applying or being considered as rescuers on our platform.

1. SCOPE AND APPLICATION

This notice governs Road Rescue Network’s processing of personal data (“Candidate Data”) for individuals who apply or are considered for participation as independent rescuers (“Candidates”).

This notice applies only to recruitment, screening, and onboarding. For information about how we handle data once you are an active rescuer or a customer using the platform, please see our Privacy Policy.

2. COLLECTION OF CANDIDATE DATA

We collect Candidate Data directly from you, which may include:

  • Name, address, email, telephone number, and other contact information
  • Application details such as preferred service areas, job type, or availability
  • Resume, experience summaries, skills certifications, or training records (including video or photo submissions)
  • Driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and other credentials
  • Background check information, where permitted by law (including driving history, criminal history, and identity verification)
  • Employment and contractor history, including references you provide
  • Payment details for payouts (bank account or digital wallet information)
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide during the application process

We may also receive Candidate Data from third-party sources, such as:

  • Background check providers (criminal history, driving records, identity validation)
  • Former employers, training providers, or references you authorize
  • Publicly available sources (professional websites, social media)

Where permitted by law, candidates in the U.S. or other applicable regions may also provide demographic information (gender, race/ethnic origin, veteran status, disability status) for equal opportunity monitoring. Providing this data is voluntary and refusal does not affect candidacy.

3. USE OF CANDIDATE DATA

Road Rescue Network uses Candidate Data to:

  • Evaluate eligibility, qualifications, and compliance with platform requirements
  • Verify identity, licensing, insurance, and certifications
  • Conduct safety and background checks where permitted by law
  • Communicate with you about onboarding, training, or application status
  • Prepare rescuer agreements and payout setup
  • Improve our recruitment and onboarding process, including anonymized reporting
  • Maintain records for regulatory, legal, and safety purposes

If you are activated as a rescuer, Candidate Data becomes part of your rescuer account records. If you are not accepted, we may retain Candidate Data for a limited period to consider you for future opportunities, unless you request deletion.

4. SHARING OF CANDIDATE DATA

We may share Candidate Data with:

  • Background check providers to verify eligibility
  • Service providers supporting our recruitment process (e.g., ID verification, document processing, training platforms)
  • Affiliates or subsidiaries of Road Rescue Network where needed for operations
  • Law enforcement or regulators where required by law or for safety/security reasons
  • Business transferees in the event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring
  • Referrals: If someone referred you, we may inform them of the outcome of your application

We do not sell Candidate Data.

5. COOKIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

When you interact with our application portal, we may use cookies, SDKs, or analytics tools to measure traffic, improve usability, and prevent fraud. For more information, see our Cookie Notice.

6. CANDIDATE DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

  • Candidate Data is retained while you are under consideration for onboarding
  • If not selected, we retain data for up to 3 years (unless local law requires shorter or longer periods) for safety, compliance, and re-application opportunities
  • Upon verified deletion requests, we will delete or de-identify Candidate Data unless retention is required by law, safety, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution
  • Certain historical information (e.g., positions applied for, application outcomes) may be retained for compliance and reporting

7. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access your Candidate Data
  • Correct inaccuracies
  • Request deletion of your Candidate Data
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive your Candidate Data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

8. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Candidate Data may be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

9. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

Where applicable (e.g., GDPR regions), we rely on:

  • Contractual necessity: processing needed to evaluate your application and enter into a rescuer agreement
  • Legal obligations: compliance with regulatory requirements (background checks, recordkeeping)
  • Legitimate interests: improving recruitment processes, safety, fraud prevention, and recordkeeping
  • Consent: where required, such as demographic data collection or extended data retention

10. UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE

We may update this Candidate Privacy Notice periodically. Updates are effective upon posting. Continued participation in the application process after changes constitutes acceptance.
