Code of Conduct

General Community Guidelines

These guidelines help keep Road Rescue Network safe, respectful, and professional. They apply to everyone who uses the platform—customers, rescuers, and guests—and cover behavior on and around any service request.

1) Treat everyone with respect

  • Be professional: Arrive prepared, communicate clearly, avoid yelling, profanity, or abusive language.
  • No harassment or hate: Do not engage in threats, bullying, slurs, or sexual comments.
  • Post-service contact: Once a job ends, contact should stop unless it concerns a lost item or billing issue through approved support channels.
  • Ratings fairly: Rate based on the service experience—not on protected traits (see Non-Discrimination Policy).

2) Help keep one another safe

  • Zero impairment: No drugs or alcohol while performing or receiving service. See Zero-Tolerance Policy.
  • Firearms & weapons: Prohibited for everyone during any RRN interaction, to the extent permitted by law. See Firearms Policy.
  • Roadside safety: Use hazard lights, cones/triangles, reflective vests, wheel chocks, and follow traffic laws and safe-work practices. Customers should position vehicles safely when possible.
  • PPE & scene control: Rescuers must use appropriate PPE and maintain a safe perimeter.
  • Dashcams/recording: Check your local consent laws. Do not publish recordings of others; submit relevant footage to RRN or authorities only.
  • Emergencies: If you are in danger, call 911 first. Then report the incident to RRN support.

3) Follow the law

  • Compliance: Obey traffic laws, towing/roadside regulations, and any permit, license, or insurance requirements.
  • Service animals & assistive devices: Where required by law, do not refuse assistance due to a service animal or assistive device.
  • Minors: Service requests must be placed by an adult.
  • Prohibited items/activities: No illegal substances, hazardous materials outside lawful handling, fraud, or other illegal conduct.

Platform rules for everyone

  • Accounts & identity: No account sharing or false identities. Keep your information accurate and up to date.
  • Off-platform payment/solicitation: Don’t request or accept cash or off-platform payment for RRN jobs, or solicit users for off-platform work.
  • Cancellations & availability: You may decline or end a job for safety or scheduling reasons (never for discriminatory reasons).
  • Property care: Don’t damage vehicles or property. You may be charged cleaning/repair fees for damage beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Fraud & abuse: No falsified jobs, duplicate/“dummy” accounts, GPS manipulation, charge-back abuse, or deceptive disputes.

Additional rules for rescuers

  • Approved equipment/vehicles: Perform services only with properly registered, insured, and safe equipment. Maintain your tools and vehicles per industry standards and recalls.
  • Scene assessment: If conditions are unsafe (traffic, weather, location), you may decline or terminate service and report the situation.
  • Estimates & consent: Provide clear estimates where applicable and obtain customer approval before work.
  • Data & communications: Use customer information solely to complete the active job. Do not retain or reuse it outside the platform.

Additional rules for customers

  • Safe cooperation: Park safely when possible, follow rescuer instructions, and keep yourself and passengers clear of hazards.
  • Honesty: Provide accurate location, vehicle details, and issue descriptions.
  • Respect boundaries: No harassment, unwanted contact after service, or attempts to coerce unsafe actions.

Discrimination is prohibited

  • Do not refuse, cancel, mistreat, or rate someone based on protected traits (race, color, ethnicity, national origin, citizenship status, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, marital/family status, pregnancy, language, or any protected characteristic).
  • “Neighborhood” bias: Avoiding jobs solely to avoid neighborhoods because of who lives or works there is prohibited.

Reporting concerns

  • Report safety issues, discrimination, harassment, fraud, weapons, or impairment to [email protected].
  • In immediate danger, call 911 before contacting RRN.

Enforcement

  • RRN may investigate reports, request documentation (including dashcam footage), suspend access during review, and remove users for violations.
  • Serious offenses—including violence, sexual misconduct, discrimination, fraud, weapons, or impairment—can result in immediate permanent removal.
  • Conduct outside the platform that threatens community safety or RRN’s operations may also lead to removal.
  • Rescuers are independent contractors, not employees of RRN; nothing here changes that status.
