Fort Thomas, KY.

Fort Thomas is a hillside residential city on the Ohio River bluffs in Campbell County, built around the grounds of a former US Army post. It is not a freight generator the way the interstate suburbs are, the truck traffic here is service and delivery: food distribution to the Highland Avenue business district, medical supply to the St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas campus, waste and recycling equipment, school and municipal fleets, and construction trucks working an old housing stock. I-471 runs along the western edge of the city, and US-27 carries the regional surface volume just west of it.

Fort Thomas is a hill town, and that is the whole story for anyone driving something heavy through it. The streets climb, they bend, and several of the older residential blocks have parked cars on both sides and no room to correct a mistake.
