Need Roadside Assistance For Your Cadillac?
Large wheels, thin sidewalls, and frequently nothing in the back to put on when one lets go. Add air suspension on the Escalade and an EV that has to ride on a bed, and the truck that shows up matters.

Cadillac roadside help, dispatched nationwide
Road Rescue Network dispatches 24/7 roadside help across the Cadillac range. The dominant call is a wheel: twenty-two inch and larger rims on low-profile tires meet a pothole, the sidewall is gone, and there is no spare. Escalades add air suspension that sits down when the vehicle dies, and the Lyriq adds everything that comes with an electric vehicle.
Who builds a Cadillac, and why it changes the rescue
Cadillac is General Motors' luxury division and now sells large petrol SUVs alongside the Lyriq and its siblings on a dedicated electric platform. Air suspension across much of the range means a car that has been sitting can be at the bottom of its travel, which changes the ramp angle a flatbed needs to load it cleanly.
Cadillac Motor Car Division, or simply Cadillac, is the luxury vehicle division of the American automobile manufacturer General Motors (GM). Its major markets are the United States, Canada, and China; Cadillac models are also distributed in 34 additional markets worldwide. Historically, Cadillac automobiles were at the top of the luxury field within the United States, often competing with Lincoln, but have been outsold by European luxury brands including BMW and Mercedes since the 2000s. In 2019, Cadillac sold 390,458 vehicles worldwide, a record for the brand.Cadillac on Wikipedia

What a rescuer has to know before they roll on a Cadillac
These are the things that go wrong when a Cadillac gets whichever truck was closest instead of the right one.
Big wheels, thin sidewalls, no spare
Escalade and the V-series cars run large-diameter wheels on short sidewalls, which is exactly the combination a pothole destroys. Most carry a sealant kit rather than a wheel, and sealant does nothing for the sidewall damage these tires actually suffer. Replacements in those sizes are not stock on a general tire truck, so the size gets confirmed on the call.
Escalade air suspension settles when the truck dies
Air-ride models drop toward their stops with no power, which reduces ground clearance and tightens the loading angle. A visibly low Escalade is usually the suspension at rest, not damage.
Magnetic dampers and performance trims sit low at the nose
CT4-V, CT5-V and Blackwing models have a front clearance that a standard flatbed approach will catch. Extended ramps, wood or a low-angle bed is the difference between transport and a bodywork bill.
Lyriq is an EV and has EV rules
Flatbed with all four wheels off the ground, no rolling neutral once fully dead, and a 12V battery that is usually the actual reason the vehicle will not wake up.
The Cadillac calls we take
Pothole tire damage
Correct-size large-diameter tires brought to the vehicle, and the wheel-lock key confirmed before anyone rolls.
Towing and low-clearance loading
Flatbed for all-wheel drive, air-ride and electric models, with extended ramps for performance trims.
Jumpstart and battery
Jump and on-site replacement, including the 12V that strands the Lyriq.
Lockout
Opened without damaging the frame or trim, with a remote-unlock attempt first where the vehicle can receive it.
Fuel delivery and winch-outs
Fuel brought to the vehicle, and recovery taken from rated points.
How a Cadillac has to be moved
Worth reading to whoever shows up, whether or not we sent them.
All-wheel-drive Cadillacs, every Escalade with air suspension, and the Lyriq belong on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. Performance sedans need a shallow approach angle or wood. An air-ride Escalade sitting on its stops has less clearance than the same truck running, so plan the load accordingly.

Cadillac roadside questions
I hit a pothole and the tire is destroyed. Is there a spare?
Probably not. Most of the range carries a sealant kit, and sealant will not fix the torn sidewall a pothole causes on a low-profile tire. Read the full size off the sidewall when you call and tell us whether you have the wheel-lock key, and the tire can usually be brought to you.
My Escalade is sitting very low. Is the suspension broken?
Usually it is just air suspension at rest with no power, which is normal. It does mean less ground clearance for loading, so the rescuer may need a shallower approach or wood to get it onto the bed cleanly.
How does a Lyriq get towed?
On a flatbed, all four wheels off the ground. It cannot be rolled in neutral once it is fully dead. Also worth knowing that when a Lyriq will not respond at all, the cause is very often the ordinary 12V battery rather than the traction pack.
