Need Roadside Assistance For Your Ford?
The spare is under the bed on a rusted winch cable, the body is aluminium, and half the fleet is a work truck that has to be back on the job tomorrow. We dispatch rescuers who know which Ford they are coming to before they leave.

Ford roadside help, dispatched nationwide
Road Rescue Network dispatches 24/7 roadside help for the whole Ford range, from an F-150 with a flat and a seized spare winch to a Super Duty in DEF lockout, a loaded Transit that will not start, or a Mach-E whose doors will not open. Ford is the most common vehicle our rescuers are sent to in the United States, which means the failure patterns are well known to us and the right tool tends to already be on the truck.
Who builds a Ford, and why it changes the rescue
Ford has built the best selling truck in America for more than four decades, and since 2015 the F-150 has worn an aluminium alloy body on a steel frame. That combination is the thing to know at the roadside. The frame takes the load and the body does not, so a lift point that was fine on an older truck can put a dent in a panel that costs a great deal to put right.
The Ford Motor Company is an American multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, United States. It was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. The company sells automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford brand, and luxury cars under its Lincoln brand. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the single-letter ticker symbol F and is controlled by the Ford family. They have minority ownership but a plurality of the voting power.Ford on Wikipedia

What a rescuer has to know before they roll on a Ford
These are the things that go wrong when a Ford gets whichever truck was closest instead of the right one.
The spare lives under the bed, on a cable that rusts solid
On F-150 and Super Duty the spare hangs beneath the bed and is lowered by a winch you drive through a hole above the rear bumper with the extension and lug wrench from the jack kit. In the salt belt that winch cable and its ratchet seize, and the most common outcome is a driver with a perfectly good spare they physically cannot get down. Rescuers carry the tools to free or cut it down rather than towing a truck that has its own replacement tire bolted underneath it.
The F-150 body is aluminium
Since the 2015 redesign the F-150 cab and bed are aluminium alloy. It changes recovery: hookups go to rated frame points, not sheet metal, magnetic tow lights will not stick to the body, and a careless strap leaves a crease that costs far more to fix than steel would. Super Duty models mix aluminium body panels over a steel frame.
A dead 12V locks you out of the electric ones
Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning use electronic door releases. When the 12V battery dies the exterior buttons go dead and the car is shut with you outside it, even though the big traction battery is full. There is a defined way in and a jump point to bring the 12V back. This is a lockout call that looks like a tow call, and treating it as a tow is how people lose a day.
The diesels stop themselves on purpose
6.7 Power Stroke Super Duty trucks derate and eventually refuse to restart when diesel exhaust fluid runs out or the exhaust filter cannot complete a regeneration. Nothing is broken. Fluid delivered to the truck and a completed regen puts it back on the road, and dragging it to a dealer instead is a wasted tow.
Transit is a commercial vehicle, not a big car
High-roof Transits do not fit under every canopy or into every garage, dual-rear-wheel models change the hookup, and an upfitted or loaded van is far heavier than its badge suggests. We dispatch on the roof height, the weight and what is in the back rather than sending a light-duty wrecker to find out.
The Ford calls we take
Flat tire and seized spare winch
Freeing or cutting down an under-bed spare, fitting it, and getting the truck moving. If the spare is unusable we bring a tire in the correct size and load rating.
Lockout
Conventional and keyless Ford lockouts, including the electronic-latch doors on Mach-E and Lightning that go dead with the 12V, and Ford's keypad and backup fob procedures where the vehicle has them.
Jumpstart and battery
Jump at the correct points, load-testing, and on-site replacement. On hybrids and EVs it is the small 12V battery that strands the vehicle, not the traction pack.
Fuel and DEF delivery
Gasoline, diesel and diesel exhaust fluid brought to the truck, with a restart attempt on-site so a fluid problem does not become a tow.
Towing, winch-out and recovery
Flatbed and wheel-lift for the full range from Fiesta to F-750, with recovery taken from rated frame points on aluminium-bodied trucks.
How a Ford has to be moved
Worth reading to whoever shows up, whether or not we sent them.
Front-wheel-drive Fords can usually be moved with the drive wheels lifted, but four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models, and every electric Ford, belong on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. On an aluminium-bodied F-150 the straps and hooks go to rated frame points, never to body panels or the bumper skin. If the truck is dead and has an electronic parking brake, expect skates rather than rolling it on.
Ford models we cover

Owner-operators, contractors and service fleets running Super Duty and Transit, families in an Explorer or Escape, and anyone whose factory roadside coverage has run out. Every rescuer in the network carries current general liability insurance and works to standardised response and pricing practices, so the rate does not change because it is three in the morning.

Ford roadside questions
I have a flat but I cannot get the spare down from under my F-150. What now?
That is the single most common Ford call we take. The winch that lowers the spare seizes from road salt and corrosion, and the crank simply spins or jams. A rescuer can usually free it, and can cut the carrier down safely if it will not move. If the spare itself is flat or rotten, we bring a correct-size tire instead of towing the truck.
The doors on my Mach-E will not open and the car is dead. Is it the big battery?
Almost never. The doors are electronic and run off the small 12V battery, so a flat 12V leaves you locked out with a full traction battery. There is a defined way into the vehicle and a jump point to revive the 12V. Call it in as a lockout with a dead 12V and the right person comes.
My Super Duty says it will not restart because of DEF. Do I need a tow?
Usually not. Running the diesel exhaust fluid tank dry makes the truck refuse to restart by design, not because anything failed. A rescuer brings fluid, fills it and attempts the restart on the spot. It needs enough fluid to clear the lockout, which is why a single bottle from a truck stop often does not do it.
Do you cover Transit vans and box trucks?
Yes, including high-roof Transits, dual-rear-wheel models, upfitted service vans and E-Series box trucks. These need equipment matched to the height and weight, so tell dispatch the roof height and whether it is loaded and we send accordingly.

Ford down right now?
One number reaches a live dispatcher. Tell them the model and what it is doing, and the truck that leaves is the one that can actually take your car.
