Kenworth roadside help, dispatched nationwide
Road Rescue Network dispatches 24/7 mobile heavy repair and towing for Kenworth. The engine and aftertreatment behaviour matches Peterbilt, so derates are handled the same way. The difference at the roadside is the aerodynamic packaging on the T680, which hides access and gets damaged by operators reaching for the nearest solid-looking thing.
Who builds a Kenworth, and why it changes the rescue
Kenworth is Paccar's other North American nameplate and shares driveline and much of the chassis with Peterbilt while selling a very different cab. The aerodynamic models carry fairings and chassis skirts that look structural and are not, so the lift gets planned around the frame rail rather than around whatever is easiest to reach.

What a rescuer has to know before they roll on a Kenworth
These are the things that go wrong when a Kenworth gets whichever truck was closest instead of the right one.
Aerodynamic panels are not recovery points
The T680 carries extensive fairings and chassis skirts. They are not structural, they are expensive, and they sit exactly where an inexperienced operator wants to put a strap. Recovery goes through rated frame points.
Access is tighter than it looks
The same aero packaging that saves fuel restricts access to air lines, batteries and the front of the engine. A mobile tech who works on these regularly gets to the fault far faster than one who does not.
PACCAR derates on fluid and filters
Exhaust fluid level and quality, and a filter that cannot regenerate, are the usual reasons an MX-powered Kenworth loses power or shuts down. Fluid and a forced regeneration are usually the whole repair.
The two heavy-truck rules still apply
No air means caged spring brakes before it rolls, and most front-end tows want the driveshaft out first.
The Kenworth calls we take
Air system repair
Finding the leak that stops the truck holding pressure and repairing it in place.
Aftertreatment and DEF
Fluid delivered, forced regenerations and derates cleared where legal.
Tire service
Steer, drive and trailer positions with heavy-duty tools and torque.
Heavy towing and recovery
Caged brakes, driveline removal where needed, load through rated frame points.
How a Kenworth has to be moved
Worth reading to whoever shows up, whether or not we sent them.
Cage the spring brakes before moving a truck with no air, and pull the driveshaft for most front-end tows. On a T680, straps and hooks avoid the fairings and skirts entirely and go to rated frame points.

Kenworth roadside questions
Why does the aero package matter in a recovery?
Because the fairings and skirts look solid and are not structural. Strapping to them destroys expensive panels without properly securing the truck. Everything goes through rated frame points instead.
My T680 lost power on the highway.
That is usually an aftertreatment derate rather than an engine failure. Exhaust fluid level or quality, or a filter that cannot regenerate, cause most of them, and fluid plus a forced regeneration usually clears it on the shoulder.
Can you move it if it has no air?
Yes, once the spring brakes are caged with the correct tool and the truck is properly chocked. Until that is done the truck will not roll, which is the brakes working as designed.

Kenworth down right now?
One number reaches a live dispatcher. Tell them the model and what it is doing, and the truck that leaves is the one that can actually take your car.
