Need Roadside Assistance For Your Lexus?
Toyota engineering with bigger wheels and thinner sidewalls. Most Lexus calls are a destroyed tire on a car that has nothing to put on, or a hybrid that will not wake up because of a battery the size of a lunchbox.

Lexus roadside help, dispatched nationwide
Road Rescue Network dispatches 24/7 roadside help for Lexus. Underneath, these share hybrid systems, jump procedures and four-wheel-drive hardware with Toyota, which our rescuers know well. What is specific to Lexus is at the wheels: large diameters on short sidewalls, frequently with no spare aboard.
Who builds a Lexus, and why it changes the rescue
Lexus is Toyota's luxury division and inherits its hybrid engineering, so the twelve volt battery point applies here too. What is added is packaging. Air suspension on the larger models and a battery sited in the boot on several cars mean the obvious approach is often the wrong one.
Lexus is the luxury vehicle division of the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. The Lexus brand is marketed in more than 90 countries and territories worldwide and is Japan's largest-selling make of premium cars. It has ranked among the 10 largest Japanese global brands in market value. Lexus has been headquartered in Shimoyama, Aichi, in Japan since 2024. Operational centers are located in Brussels, Belgium, and Plano, Texas, United States.Lexus on Wikipedia

What a rescuer has to know before they roll on a Lexus
These are the things that go wrong when a Lexus gets whichever truck was closest instead of the right one.
Hybrids jump at a terminal, not at the battery
RX, NX and ES hybrids keep the 12V away from the engine bay and provide a dedicated jump point under the hood. Nothing is ever connected to the orange high-voltage cabling. A hybrid that will not start is nearly always the small battery, not the traction pack, which makes it a jump call rather than the tow people expect.
Large wheels, short sidewalls, and often no spare
A pothole that a normal tire would shrug off tears the sidewall on a low-profile twenty-inch or larger wheel. Many models carry sealant instead of a spare, and sealant does not repair a sidewall. Those tire sizes are not stock on a general truck, so we confirm the size and the wheel-lock key before dispatching.
GX and LX are body-on-frame four-wheel drives
These are Land Cruiser relatives rather than crossovers. They are heavier than they look, they have a transfer case, and the larger ones carry air suspension that settles when the vehicle is dead, tightening the loading angle.
Quiet cabins hide the warning
Lexus owners routinely tell us the first sign of a flat was the car handling oddly, because the cabin is quiet enough to mute the noise. That means more of these arrive with a tire already destroyed rather than merely soft, which is why a replacement rather than a plug is the usual answer.
The Lexus calls we take
Pothole tire damage
Correct-size large-diameter tires brought to the vehicle, with the wheel-lock key confirmed first.
Hybrid jumpstart and 12V replacement
Jump at the designated terminal and on-site battery replacement.
Towing
Flatbed for all-wheel drive, hybrid and air-ride models, with a shallow approach where the vehicle is sitting low.
Lockout and fuel delivery
Opened without damaging trim, and fuel brought to the vehicle.
Winch-out and recovery
Snow and soft ground, taken from rated points on the body-on-frame models.
How a Lexus has to be moved
Worth reading to whoever shows up, whether or not we sent them.
All-wheel-drive, hybrid and electric Lexus models belong on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground, and so do GX and LX. An air-ride LS or LX sitting low when dead needs a shallower approach or wood. Never connect jump leads to anything but the designated terminal on a hybrid.

Lexus roadside questions
I hit a pothole and the tire is ruined. Is there a spare?
On a lot of the range, no, just sealant, which cannot fix a torn sidewall. Read the full size off the tire when you call and tell us whether you have the wheel-lock key. Those diameters are not carried on every truck, so confirming it before anyone rolls is what makes a same-visit fix possible.
My hybrid will not start. Is the expensive battery dead?
Almost certainly not. It is nearly always the small 12V battery, and there is a dedicated jump terminal under the hood for exactly this situation. Nothing gets connected to the orange high-voltage cabling. It is usually a jump and a replacement rather than a tow.
Is a GX towed like an RX?
No. GX and LX are body-on-frame four-wheel drives closer to a Land Cruiser than to a crossover. They are heavier, and if yours has air suspension it will be sitting low once it is dead, so the loading angle is tighter than you would expect.

Lexus down right now?
One number reaches a live dispatcher. Tell them the model and what it is doing, and the truck that leaves is the one that can actually take your car.
