Need Roadside Assistance For Your Porsche?
Low at the front, expensive at every corner, and carrying no spare. The difference between a clean load and a bodywork bill is whether the driver who arrives has done this before.

Porsche roadside help, dispatched nationwide
Road Rescue Network dispatches 24/7 roadside help for Porsche. These are not difficult vehicles to move, but they are unforgiving of a rushed job: a steep ramp takes the front lip, a strap in the wrong place marks the bodywork, and the wheels on some models do not come off the way a general tire truck expects. We dispatch on the model.
Who builds a Porsche, and why it changes the rescue
Porsche has built the 911 around a rear mounted engine since 1963 and still does, which puts the weight behind the rear axle on the car most people picture when they hear the name. That changes how one behaves on a ramp and where it can be secured. The Cayenne and Macan are conventional SUVs underneath and do not share the problem.

What a rescuer has to know before they roll on a Porsche
These are the things that go wrong when a Porsche gets whichever truck was closest instead of the right one.
The front will hit a standard ramp
911, Panamera and the performance models sit low enough at the nose that a normal flatbed approach angle makes contact. Cars with a front-axle lift system should have it raised before loading, which requires the car to be awake. Otherwise it is extended ramps, wood or a low-angle bed.
There is no spare and the wheel may not be conventional
Most carry a sealant kit rather than a wheel, and some performance models use centre-lock wheels that need a specific tool and torque rather than ordinary lug nuts. Naming the model at dispatch determines whether a tire change is even possible at the roadside.
All-wheel drive and the transmission both point at a bed
All-wheel-drive Carrera 4, Cayenne, Macan and Panamera models want all four wheels off the ground, and the dual-clutch transmission is not something to gamble with by towing on its wheels. Flatbed is the answer across the range.
Taycan is an EV with a very low nose
It combines every electric-vehicle rule with the worst approach angle in the range. Flatbed, all four wheels up, no rolling neutral once fully dead, and a shallow approach or wood on the load.
The 911 carries its weight at the back
A rear-engined car loads and secures differently from a front-engined one, and the balance surprises people winching it on. It is a detail that separates an operator who knows the car from one who does not.
The Porsche calls we take
Flatbed transport
Low-angle loading with extended ramps or wood, front lift raised where fitted, secured at designated points.
Flat tire
Correct-size tires brought to the vehicle, with centre-lock models identified before dispatch.
Jumpstart and battery
Jump at the designated points and on-site replacement, including cars where the battery is not in the engine bay.
Lockout and fuel delivery
Opened without damaging trim, and fuel brought to the vehicle.
How a Porsche has to be moved
Worth reading to whoever shows up, whether or not we sent them.
Flatbed with all four wheels off the ground across the range. Raise the front-axle lift before loading if the car has it and still has power. Use extended ramps or wood for the approach. Secure at the designated points, never over bodywork, and remember that a 911 carries its mass at the rear.

Porsche roadside questions
Will the tow truck damage the front of my 911?
Not if the right one comes. The nose is low enough that a standard ramp angle will catch it, so it needs extended ramps, wood or a low-angle bed, and the front-axle lift raised first if your car has it and still has power. Say the model when you call.
I have a flat. Is there a spare?
Almost certainly not, just a sealant kit. Sealant will not fix a cut sidewall. Also tell us if your car has centre-lock wheels, because those need a specific tool and torque and not every tire truck carries it.
How does a Taycan get moved?
Flatbed, all four wheels off the ground, loaded on a shallow approach because the nose is very low. It cannot be rolled in neutral once it is fully dead. If it seems completely lifeless, that is usually the small 12V battery.
