Need Roadside Assistance For Your Ram?
Most Rams that stop are working when they stop. Loaded, hitched, or on a job with somebody waiting. We dispatch on what the truck is actually carrying, not on the badge.

Ram roadside help, dispatched nationwide
Road Rescue Network dispatches 24/7 roadside help for the Ram range, from a 1500 with air suspension stuck on the ground to a Cummins 2500 in exhaust-fluid lockout, a dually with a blown inside rear, or a ProMaster that will not start with a day of deliveries in the back. Heavy-duty Rams are working trucks and they get equipment sized for the loaded weight, not the empty one.
Who builds a Ram, and why it changes the rescue
Ram split from Dodge into its own truck brand in 2009 and builds the heavy duty models around the Cummins inline six. The 2500 and 3500 offer a rear air suspension, and a system that has lost pressure drops the back of the truck, so a Ram that looks like it has broken a spring may only have lost air.
Ram Trucks is an American brand of light to mid-weight pickup heavy duty trucks and other commercial vehicles, and a division of Stellantis North America. It was established in a spin-off of Dodge in 2009 using the name of the Ram pickup line of trucks. Ram Trucks' logo, featuring the head of a ram, was originally used by Dodge. New series Ram 1500 pickups are made at Sterling Heights Assembly in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Since its inception, the brand has used the slogan "Guts. Glory. Ram."Ram on Wikipedia

What a rescuer has to know before they roll on a Ram
These are the things that go wrong when a Ram gets whichever truck was closest instead of the right one.
Cummins trucks refuse to restart on fluid, not failure
A 6.7 Cummins derates and then will not restart when the diesel exhaust fluid tank runs dry or the exhaust filter cannot finish a regeneration. Mechanically nothing is wrong. Fluid brought to the truck and a completed regen usually ends the call on the shoulder rather than at a dealer, and a single bottle from a truck stop is often not enough volume to clear the lockout.
Air suspension will not lift a dead truck
Ram 1500 air suspension can be sitting at its lowest setting when the truck dies, and it will not raise to change a wheel. There is a jack mode to stop the system fighting a jack, and it needs the truck awake to use. A truck on its stops also has a tighter loading angle than the same model on coils.
A dually flat is two problems, not one
On 3500 dual-rear-wheel trucks the inside rear tire fails quietly, often noticed only as a handling change or by smell. Changing it means breaking down the outer wheel first and having the right long-reach tools and a torque spec that is not a light-duty number. Not every roadside tire truck carries the equipment, which is why we ask whether it is a dually before dispatching.
ProMaster is front-wheel drive, and that changes the tow
Unlike most large vans the ProMaster drives the front wheels, so the correct lift is different from a rear-drive Transit or Savana. It is also tall, and a loaded or upfitted one is much heavier than it looks. Height and load decide the truck.
Half-tons have coil rear suspension
The Ram 1500 uses rear coil springs rather than leaf springs, which changes where recovery straps can safely go on a stuck truck. Recovery comes off rated points, not the axle hardware.
The Ram calls we take
DEF delivery and diesel no-start
Exhaust fluid brought to the truck and filled, with a restart attempt on-site so a fluid lockout does not become a tow.
Tire service including duallies
Inside and outside rear tire changes on dual-rear-wheel trucks with the right tools and torque, plus correct-size replacements where the spare is unusable.
Towing and heavy recovery
Flatbed and heavy wheel-lift sized to the loaded weight, and winch-outs from mud, snow and job sites taken from rated recovery points.
Jumpstart and battery
Jump and on-site replacement, including the twin-battery diesel trucks where one weak battery drags both down.
Lockout and fuel delivery
Ram lockouts opened without damage, and gasoline or diesel brought to the vehicle.
How a Ram has to be moved
Worth reading to whoever shows up, whether or not we sent them.
Four-wheel-drive Rams belong on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. Heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 trucks, especially loaded or hitched to a trailer, need equipment rated for the real weight rather than the empty figure, and a dually needs a bed wide enough for the rear track. A ProMaster is front-wheel drive, so the correct lift is the opposite end from a rear-drive van. Recovery straps go to rated points, never to a coil spring mount or axle tube.

Ram roadside questions
My Cummins says it will not restart because of DEF. Is the engine damaged?
No. The countdown and the no-start are deliberate emissions behaviour, not a mechanical fault. A rescuer brings enough diesel exhaust fluid to clear the lockout, fills it and attempts the restart on the spot. A single small bottle usually will not do it, which is why people end up calling after trying.
I have a flat on the inside rear of my dually.
Tell dispatch that specifically. The outer wheel has to come off first, the tools need the reach, and the torque is a heavy-duty spec rather than a car number. Not every tire truck is equipped for it, so naming it up front is what gets the right one sent.
My Ram 1500 is sitting on the ground and I cannot jack it up.
Air suspension parks at its lowest setting and will not lift once the truck is dead. There is a mode that stops the system fighting a jack, but it needs the truck awake. A rescuer works around it, and if the truck has to be loaded, expect a shallower approach than normal.
Do you cover loaded work trucks and trailers?
Yes, and the loaded weight is what we dispatch on. Tell us what is in the bed and whether you are hitched to anything, because a 3500 with a loaded trailer is a different call from an empty one.
Ram and its model names are trademarks of their owner. Road Rescue Network is an independent nationwide dispatch network and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorised agent of Ram. We name the make because it is what our rescuers service.
Ram down right now?
One number reaches a live dispatcher. Tell them the model and what it is doing, and the truck that leaves is the one that can actually take your car.
